Dry hands

As much as I love knitting, there are a few things that sometimes prohibit me from it. Those things are: work, being too tired (usually thanks to work) and dry hands. Dry hands makes winter knitting that much more difficult. I don't know if it is just me, of if other knitters out there feel the same... but once winter has sucked all the moisture out of my hands, the last thing I want to do is touch a fiber.

As a result you'll find lotion in every single one of my knitting bags. My favorite thus far has been Burt's Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme. I carry my little jar of this stuff with me everywhere. It's a creme, so its pretty thick. Since its comprised of almond oil and beeswax it is a bit greasy when you first apply it, but this only lasts for a short period time. My hands feel soft and hydrated for hours after use and I find that I only need to apply it about twice a day. Also, it has a sweet almond scent thanks to the almond oil which I really enjoy.

You can find it in most stores: Target, Walmart and online in a bunch of places. The price varies but seems to hover around the $9-$10 mark. It's a little expensive for a hand creme, but let me tell you - a little bit goes a long way. I've been using this stuff all winter and I've barely made a dent in my jar.
