While I wait for the yarn to come in for my
"On the Button Tank Top" I starting planning out my crotchet blanket. I'm having a difficult time picking a pattern for the blanket. On one side, I love the idea of a traditional granny square blanket, but every pattern I see out there seems more "modern" with more unique details and a crazy color palette. On the other - I want something unique and clean. Yes, yes, I understand that the color palette is completely up to me, but sometimes it's just too hard to see.
So I'm in between two patterns:
1.
Purl Bee's Giant, Giant Granny Square Blanket
I'm so drawn to this blanket. The pattern is simple and clean. The colors are bright but elegant. If I were to go this route, I would likely stick with a certain color palette, something bright but neutral. I'm really leaning toward's Pantone's color of the year:
Radiant Orchid. I'm thinking this could be a beautiful blanket in gradient shades of purple: ranging from lilac to plum. Plus, no construction!
2.
Granny Square Rug
Now this is a more traditional Granny Square blanket. Not quite like my gram's... but it's got that feel to it. It's a 4-color blanket and I actually don't hate the colors they have picked in this one, even though its a bit dated. I'd like it in a more muted colorway with more neutrals. Because of course. I like this because it's more traditional and a more simplistic color palette.
I'm so torn. What do you think?
