Over the last couple of years I've had lofty and somewhat vague New Years Resolutions. Things like "be more independent" or "be a nicer person". Goals that were on their face very altruistic but hard to quantify, measure, and most importantly... achieve.
Do I have 2014 resolution you ask? Kind of. My resolution is to survive (as you can see, I still haven't strayed from my vagueness). About 8 months ago I jumped in on a project at work that culminates on 10/1/2014. It's kinda a big deal and because there is a hard deadline, it's going to get harder and more stressful as the year progresses. So, surviving 2014 without having a nervous breakdown, losing my hair or losing my job will be a success!
So... what is my unintentional resolution??? Hot yoga. I got an email from my yoga studio that I have 13 classes remaining that expire on 2/2. So it looks like I'll be going to hot yoga 3xweek like all of the other New Year's weight loss schmucks. Maybe it'll kickstart my yoga practice... they do say it takes 3 weeks of doing something for it to become a habit. Maybe it'll even help me accomplish my actual resolution of surviving.
breathe in, sweat out
